STARS Resources

This page is managed by the SHIP National Technical Assistance Center (SHIP TA Center), and it is only accessible from the STARS Landing Page. The U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL) requires STARS Resources to be password-protected. They are housed in the STARS menu in the password protected area of the SHIP TA Center website (www.portal.shiptacenter.org). Click the orange SHIP Login padlock above to log in or request an account.

Navigate to the "Events" menu to register for monthly STARS Office Hours or periodic STARS training webinars.

How can I get a SHIP login at shiphelp.org?

You can ask your supervisor for an account , or you can register online by following these steps:

  1. Click the orange SHIP padlock
  2. Click the green button to register online for an account
  3. Complete all fields in the online form (double-checking your email address for accuracy)
  4. Submit your request
  5. Go to your email to open a validation request email from the sending address info@shiptacenter.org
  6. Respond to the validation request email 

A SHIP director or administrator for your state or territory will need to approve your request, and this may take up to 5 business days. If you already have an account to log in on the www.portal.shiptacenter.org page but do not see the STARS menu after logging in, contact your supervisor to change your user role and privileges to allow access to the STARS menu and SHIP Resource Library. 

The SHIP TA Center's Role with STARS

The national State Health Insurance Assistance Program Technical Assistance Center (SHIP TA Center) provides training and technical assistance to support all STARS users. The SHIP TA Center provides the services listed above. For help with usernames, passwords, and Application Programming Interface (API) technology, contact the STARS system contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. Go to the STARS landing page and see Contact the Booz Allen Hamilton STARS Help Desk under "Need Help With STARS."
